Born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Dr. Ryker has been providing obstetrical and gynecological services to patients in Tulsa and the surrounding area since 1974
He received his bachelor's degree from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, and his M.D. degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine. Dr. Ryker came to Tulsa and completed a one-year rotating internship at Hillcrest Medical Center. Then he entered the military and served as a U.S. Navy flight surgeon attaining the rank of lieutenant commander before being released from active duty. Dr. Ryker returned to Tulsa to complete his OB-GYN residency training.

Dr. Ryker is clinical assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine -- Tulsa. He has been twice elected chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Saint Francis Hospital, and for seven years he has served as a member of the board of directors at Saint Francis Hospital.
Organizations Dr. Ryker is a member of include the American Medical Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association, Tulsa County Medical Society, Tulsa County OB-GYN Society. He is a past member of the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Post Anesthetic Nursing and was chairman of the Women's Healthcare Task Force at Saint Francis Hospital from 1987 to 1992.
Dr. Ryker has served as international research coordinator for the Dalton Society, a London-based multi-disciplinary organization, active in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. The Dalton Society is dedicated to research, education, diagnosis and the treatment of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
Fundamental to his practice philosophy, Dr. Ryker provides his patients with quality, personalized care in a comfortable, private setting. Dr. Ryker and his staff strive to treat each patient with respect and make time to listen to and address their concerns.

We know that long waits are inconvenient. Therefore, our scheduling system is organized to enable us to see patients in a timely and efficient manner. However, there are times when scheduling conflicts may occur from emergencies and unexpected delays. We will try to inform you of such delays as soon as possible so you may make other arrangements or reschedule your appointment.

Medical Questions and Concerns
|
If you have medical questions or concerns you would like to address, please call our office during business hours so we will have access to your medical records. The receptionist will take your name and number, and the nurse will return your call at the earliest convenience. If your call is an emergency, please notify the receptionist so she may advise the nurse or doctor.
If your concern is urgent and requires an appointment, the nurse or doctor will determine when you should come in and how best to treat the problem. If you are in need of assistance during our lunch hour, you may contact the office through our answering service and they will contact the doctor or the doctor on call immediately.

After Hours Care
|
After office hours, urgent calls are received by our professional medical answering service and forwarded to the on-call doctor. Regardless of the day or hour, our phones are answered 24 hours a day.

Prescriptions
|
Refills of prescription medication can only be authorized during office hours when we have access to your complete medical record. This ensures that you receive appropriate medications and is in compliance with federal regulations.

In-Patient Hospital Care
|
We admit our patients into Saint Francis hospital for inpatient care. If you need inpatient hospitalization, our staff will take care of arranging pre-certification with your insurance company and handling the scheduling of the procedure. If you require hospitalization after hours, our staff will obtain the information needed from the hospital to update your records.

Outpatient Care
|
For our outpatient services we use Saint Francis Hospital, Saint Francis Ambulatory Surgery Center, Harvard
Surgery Center and Eastern Oklahoma Surgery Center. If outpatient surgery is required, our staff will handle all pre-certification with your insurance company and coordinate scheduling of the procedure.

Payment for Services

All fees incurred in our office are due and payable at the time services are rendered, unless prior arrangements have been made. Our fees are within customary ranges of other gynecologists and obstetricians in our area. We accept cash, check, money orders, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express for your convenience. Should you require a surgical procedure or a hospital admission, we will file your insurance claim for you.
